Run on the Braes

This morning Katrina and I set off at 7.45am for our run on the Braes.  We had planned our large loop and really enjoyed the run.  I really enjoy running with Katrina especially when I'm wanting to do a steady/easier run.

Now that I have a heart rate monitor I find it really interested to see how hard/easy I'm working on a run like this.  Here is my graph of my heart rate over the run ...
It is a lot more erratic on a run like this. On a steady road run my heart rate stays pretty steady right through the run. My heart rate went up a bit over the last mile or so because I pushed on and finished a bit quicker.

I've started using our Power Plate.  At the moment I'm doing 10mins after I've run. 5mins working my quads and 5mins on my calves. I'm enjoying using it and it will be interesting to see what benefits there are over a few weeks/months.

So that's the end of my easy week.  This coming week I want to put some good sessions in with the Inverness Half Marathon in 2 weeks.  That starts with our club Fartlek session tomorrow. I wonder whether I'll be able to make 5miles?  It could be hard as there are a couple of 6min runs in the session.
