I was looking forward to the session tonight as following last week's easier week I felt I had a bit of a spring to my step. I've not managed 5 miles for the 30mins in a while and thought I had a chance. The only negative point was there was 2 x 6mins in the session and it's always harder to get to 5miles with longer reps.
There were 6 of us in our group and I knew I was the slowest so I started at the front and tried to stay ahead as long as I could. It was a good motivation and helped me to run as hard and fast as I could. Once home I downloaded my splits ....
So I didn't quite make it but was pretty close so I'm more than happy with that. My HR graph shows that I was working consistently over the whole session.
I enjoyed the warm up and cool down run with Hayley Haining. She's a real star and I always find it really interesting chatting to her about her training and plans. When she goes past me she is so light on her feet and really quiet.
So a good session to start the week.
