Tempo Run

Katrina and I had planned to run with the club tonight but we've had a lot of snow today and it was quite slushy on the pavements. Katrina didn't fancy running in the dark so we decided to run earlier while it was still light.

We ran the first 3miles together then Katrina headed home while I carried on. I wanted to do a tempo run so I used the 3miles as a warm up, pushed it harder for 5miles and then eased off for the last mile and a bit.

Here is my route ...

Here are my stats for the run.  I do like the fact that I can record average heart rate plus height gained and lost for each mile.
I was pushing pretty hard as my heart rate graph shows.  It's all over the place for the first 3miles but settles down once I got into my tempo effort.
I'm really enjoying my running at the moment. It feels so good to be able to run pain free. My new Saucony shoes seem to be suiting me for my road runs and my Hoka's for the off road stuff. Sorted.
