A few times I had to encourage Katrina to ease off a bit. I'm not sure she has embraced the idea of an easy run quite yet!!
It was good to get out and get a few miles done. This coming week we'll be upping the pace and distance again with a 15mile run on the Braes next Sunday morning.
I know January isn't quite finished yet and I have one more run tomorrow but I thought I'd do my monthly review today as it's four weeks.
Here is a summary of my runs and cycles for January ....

As I've mentioned I'm running three to four days a week for the next few months as I plan to have a nice steady build up to the Lakeland Race at the end of July.
I ran a total of 145.62 miles in the four weeks which is a lot lower than previous years but that's all part of the plan!
The key run for the month, as always, was the long run on the whw on 21st January with lots of other ultra runners. I was really pleased with how that went and my aim to is run these long monthly runs within myself and build up gradually.
I've also had some good Fartlek and speed sessions so it's all good so far.
My left Achilles isn't causing any problems at all. I can still just about feel it and if I squeeze hard I know it's there but I can't feel it while running so definietly feel the worse is behind me.
I decided to join in the fun at marathontalk.com They have a fun competition where you state at the beginning of the month how many runs you are aiming to do each week and then you log the run and are given a percentage.
I missed Jantastic but have entered for Febulous. I've entered a West Highland Way Race team but so far there are only 3 of us so if you want to join us please log on and join in the fun!!
You only have to record how many runs you did so it doesn't take long. For Febulous you also state your longest run of the week and record that once you've done it.
