Today we held our annual Christmas Relays but due to the weather it's the first time we've been able to do it since 2007!
A total of 35 runners young and old turned up and were put into 5 teams of 7 runners. My team was called John's Ultra Runners .... even though we were only running 1.6miles each ....
I set off first for my team. Unfortunately I was too busy setting up my camera to video the race and sorting out my team that I didn't get a chance to warm up! Big mistake as within a minute or two I knew I was in trouble.
John McL shadowed me for most of the first lap with Michael ahead. Once John went past I just tried to run as hard as I could for as long as I could. It was hard work! I finished my two laps in 10.21. The last time I ran this I took 9.36 but it was pretty windy today!
My team ended up 4th out of the 5 teams! Full results on our club web site. It was a fun afternoon. Katrina and my Mum came to watch. Katrina wanted to run but her foot is a bit sore and so wisely decided to rest it for our run on Wednesday.
We are running from Milngavie to Drymen and back aiming to start running at 9am on Wednesday 28th December. If anyone wants to join us you are very welcome. You can go out as far as you like. If you plan to come leave a message on the whw forum.
